New video: Vision and Driving

In this page

Giving good advice means ensuring safety!

Are you a physician who wants to make your patients aware of the latest recommendations on driving and vision, but you’re not entirely sure you know them all? Update your knowledge in less than 3 minutes with the ERN-EYE video1, produced following the European Directive 2006/126/CE.

In the frame of the Rare Disease Day, the European Reference Network ERN-EYE has launched a short and lively video to help physicians to better advise their patients suffering from visual impairments about their fitness to drive. With this video, clinicians will be able to update their knowledge quickly.

This project was produced according to the European rules (Directive 2006/126/CE) with the help of a patient representative as well as experts of the network.

The video is available on ERN-EYE’s social networks and under this link. A second video targeting young people on the risks of driving with visual impairment is also available on our channels.

1This video was adapted from a video produced on the initiative of the French network SENSGENE with the support of the French road safety authority. The French rare diseases network SENSGENE, created in 2014, is coordinated from Strasbourg University Hospital by Pr Hélène Dollfus. It fulfils national missions around rare sensory diseases. These include rare eye and ear diseases. In particular, the network has three major missions: to improve patient care, to coordinate and encourage research, and to develop training and information. For more information, visit www.sensgene.com.
