HCP Center
The Hospital Clínico San Carlos is a Health Centre that since its constitution in 1787 has among its objectives the improvement of care, teaching and research. Reconstructed in the 60's, located in its current location, has been modified and adapted to the demands of Madrid society, being a national and international benchmark for the level of its facilities and its professionals.By means of Royal Decree 1479/2001 of 27 December, the functions and services of the National Health Institute are transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, becoming part of the Health Network of the Madrid Health Institute.The Hospital has more than 5,000 professionals and is the main reference centre for the training of health professionals at the Complutense University of Madrid.The building is built in a monoblock with an area of 175,000 square meters, and its structures are being transformed from annual investment programs to favor improvements in infrastructure, incorporating new technologies and equipment, making the Center more comfortable for patients and families.The Hospital Clínico also has the Modesto Lafuente and Avenida de Portugal Specialty Centres, as well as the Mental Health Centres: Hospital de Día de Ponzano, Centro de Salud Mental Centro, Centro de Salud Mental Galiana and Centro de Salud Mental Las Águilas.
