Biographies

Dr Victoria Pueyo

Victoria Pueyo MD, PhD, is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at Miguel Servet University Hospital (Zaragoza, Spain). Her clinical practice focuses on the long-term care of children born prematurely or with perinatal complications that may lead to cerebral visual impairment (CVI). During her residency in Ophthalmology, she completed a clinical observership at Wills Eye Hospital (Philadelphia, USA). She later carried out research stays at the BabyLab in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, in 2016 and 2019. As Principal Investigator of the Vision, Image and Neurodevelopment Research Group at the Aragón Health Research Institute, her research focuses on visual development in preterm children and the creation of tools for assessing visual function at any age. She is co-founder of the medical technology startup DIVE Medical SL.

Dr Sofía De Manuel Triantafilo

Sofía De Manuel Triantafilo, MD, in an Ophthalmologist in the Pediatrics Department at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, Spain since 2017. She specializes in strabismus and cerebral visual impairment (CVI); she oversees follow-up care for premature infants and children with perinatal complications or syndromes associated with CVI.  She became a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology in 2015 and is an active member of the Spanish Strabismus and Pediatric Society as well as the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology. During her residency, she completed observerships at renowned institutions; Bascom Palmer Eye Hospital (Miami), Moorfields Eye Hospital (UK) and Rotterdam Eye Hospital (Netherlands).
