ERN-EYE took part in three big congresses in June: ESHG, EUNOS and RIWC 2024 with boothes to increase awareness about the network, work, goals, and mission.
ESHG 2024
On 2 June 2024, the European Human Genetics Conference (ESHG) in Berlin hosted the Get2gether European Reference Networks event. This gathering aimed to present and raise awareness about the European Reference Networks (ERNs) and to foster networking and professional connections among clinical and academic professionals interested in rare diseases. Pr Hélène Dollfus, ERN-EYE coordinator, presented “Rare Diseases Guidelines and associated documents: the impact of ERNs”.
The session was chaired by Pr Carla Oliveira and Pr Nicoline Hoogerbrugge (ERN GENTURIS), with presentations by Pr Hélène Dollfus (ERN-EYE) and Dr Holm Graessner (ERN-RND). Additionally, ERN-EYE, ERN Euro-NMD, ERN ITHACA, and ERN GENTURIS shared a booth to increase awareness about their networks, work, goals, and mission.
Attendees could learn about:
- Integration of ERNs into the national healthcare systems
- Implementation of ERNs guidelines in the national healthcare system
- Transversal use of ERN webinars by geneticists
EUNOS 2024
From June 3 to 6, 2024, during the EUNOS congress in Rotterdam, ERN-EYE had a dedicated booth. This event, focused on neuro-ophthalmology, provided us with the opportunity to raise awareness about rare eye diseases in Europe among numerous interested experts.
RIWC 2024
At the RIWC 2024, organised by Retina International in Dublin from 6 to 8 June, Pr Isabelle Audo, Pr Frans Cremers, Pr Hélène Dollfus, Pr David Keegan and Pr Bart Leroy were speakers. ERN-EYE had a dedicated booth.
