Context
The Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS) was launched by the European Commission (DG SANTE) in November 2017. It’s a web-based application where healthcare professionals from the European Reference Networks (ERNs) can discuss real patient cases. This platform aims at supporting ERNs in improving the diagnosis and treatment of rare or low prevalence complex diseases across national borders of Member States in Europe.
The CPMS is a secure software that enables health professionals to enroll patients using comprehensive data models. The system will allow for virtual consultation across national borders, ensuring that the needed expertise can travel to the patient, instead of the other way around.
CPMS 2.0 : A simplified tool for your complex cases
In order to facilitate the sharing of data within our network and to improve patients care and accelerate patient diagnosis, the European Commission decided to develop a new version of the CPMS:
- Faster: Submit your cases in just a few clicks
- Intuitive: Improved and simplified interface
- Efficient : Get advice from the network’s experts
The aim of this new version of the CPMS is to make the tool easier to use, so that our members can share their expertise even faster.
In particular, this new version of the CPMS makes the registration procedure much easier and our members who already have access to the CPMS will not need to re-register, as they will automatically have access to the new platform.
Submitting a case has been made very intuitive, with a simplified dataset enabling cases to be submitted in just a few clicks.
A new chat function has also been integrated to facilitate communication between the various members.
Furthermore, a more efficient videoconferencing tool was developed to ensure optimum quality of exchanges between network experts.
The CPMS 2.0 will also have a dedicated application on your mobile phone so that you can connect to the tool very easily.
Don’t hesitate to consult our various tutorials and videos on CPMS 2.0.
IMPORTANT : Before using the CPMS 2.0, please remember that the usage must be approved by your hospital’s Data Protection Officer. It is you responsibility to ensure approval by your DPO!!!
