Universitātes acu slimnīca aptver un ārstē plašu oftalmoloģisko slimību spektru, tostarp traumas. Tai ir vadošā pozīcija veselības aprūpē un pētniecībā. Oftalmoloģisko pētījumu institūts, kas dibināts 2007. gadā, koncentrējas uz deģeneratīvām, iekaisīgām, neoplastiskām un asinsvadu slimībām acī un redzes ceļiem molekulārā, šūnu un sistēmiskā līmenī.
