Tiubingeno universitetinės ligoninės Oftalmologijos centras yra didžiausias ir vienas svarbiausių oftalmologijos centrų Vokietijoje ir tyrimų bei klinikinio darbo pradininkas. Ji aktyviai dalyvauja daugelyje dabartinių oftalmologijos srities pokyčių. Oftalmologijos centrą sudaro Universitetinė akių ligoninė ir Oftalmologinių tyrimų institutas.
Universitetinėje akių ligoninėje gydomos ir gydomos įvairios oftalmologinės ligos, įskaitant traumas. Ji užima pirmaujančią poziciją sveikatos priežiūros ir tyrimų srityje. Oftalmologinių tyrimų institutas, įkurtas 2007 m., daugiausia dėmesio skiria degeneracinėms, uždegiminėms, navikinėms ir kraujagyslinėms akies bei regos takų ligoms molekuliniu, ląsteliniu ir sisteminiu lygiu.
