Usual Rare Eye Diseases

Although most consultations are done so that the patient physically attends the outpatient clinic, we have still the opportunity to do phone-consultations. The decision whether the patient is asked to come to the clinic is
done by the ophthalmologist prior to the visit

If the tele-consultation is chosen for the particular patient, then the patient is being contacted by a phone (the caller being the ophthalmologist) and asked his/her consent and depending on the case further
management plan is made.

Intra-vitreal therapies

(i.e.anti VEGF)

Intravitreal therapies are maintained, but the patients are divided between two procedure rooms and the interval between each patient is doubled.

RED complications

People with eye emergencies get their care as usual. Patients may present to the emergency department where we have ophthalmologists on duty.
We are continuing urgent operations and procedures.
We do not have specific link for rare eye diseases complications.

The only pharmacological trials concerning RED in our institution are on ROP treatment and all the procedures are going on as usual (permission from the Estonian health board was taken).
